Plans.

-The week has been slow moving, and Friday is here. I spent a majority of the week formatting text for the Travel guide, which is. Boring. This morning, it was pouring rain, it definately put me in one of those "I want to go home and take a nap" moods.
-I finally put new guitar strings on last night and discovered a dead note/fret. If anyone has any idea how to fix that. let me know. I also finished up some artwork for Hush Hush Commotion. I saw them on Monday with Sherwood. It's nothing groundbreaking, but I figure I should start supporting bands that support my work, so check them out. I'm hoping it might open the doors to doing some more work in the future. I went to the show though, by myself. I'll never do that again. Kind of put me in a funk for the next couple days. Doesn't help when you get to work and the intern is like "Buenos Dias!" That kid is too much.
-I dont have much going on this weekend, so hit me up if you're not doing anything. oh, We watched episode 2 of Flight of the Conchords, and I've decided that I like the show. You should watch it...
-As usual, here are some links. I probably gone through a thousand links this week, I'll try to pick up the highlights.

-Baby on Nirvana Cover.
-Noam Baumbach's New film, Margot at the Wedding.
-Chris Farley is Back.
-Worst Movie Scenes.
-Here is the first sneak peak of the adaptation of Where the Wild Things Are. Spike Jonze is behind it, so I don't think it will be another transformers.
-I think I've posted this before. still Funny. Gay Mount Everest.

Fridays, say what?!

-For some reason, the html was all being wacky when i published this post earlier.. hopefully its all there now, if not, let me know.

-I'm throwing down the fat links today. I'm flying solo at work right now, so I have a little downtime, plus I have nothing else to do on my lunchbreak. Let's begin:
-Well, FrivFriday delivers some good links, here are the highlights:
-Ali G interviewing Noam Chomsky
-Turkish Superman. The superman one is just retarded. the ET one is. well....WEIRD. watch it.
-Hole in a house.
-Extreme Japanese Custom Vans: Might have to hook it up with the mickey mouse one.
-Photosynth Demo-this looks awesome. probably won't see the light of day for some time, the potential of this idea, is just phenomenal. or at least I think so.

-OK, onto other internet findings:
-Batman's 'new' suit.
-Paul Potts semi final performance. I saw the first audition the other day. just kind of amazing seeing a normal guy (who sells cellphones), get up there and sing like that. There was also a a 6 year old that sang on there. she was good too.
-How to clear your conscience of stealing music off the internet.

-That's it for now. I'll try to put a couple more later.

What it takes to feel normal again.

-I had quite a battle with the html on virb. For some reason, html and me don't get along and I couldn't get things jiving the way I wanted, BUT I think I got it. or at least to the point where I know where things are at, kind of. so check it. just a new header, that's pretty much it. hah. all that work for that. lame.
-I ran into some funny clips from Extras on youtube. Theres tons more clips on there, with Sir Ian, Ben Stiller, David Bowie, etc. Pretty funny, but I have yet to get my hands on a full episode, anyone seen any?
-Friday is amoung us. but nothing is going on. someone come by and play foosball with mike and me.
-Oh yeah, new Wizard clip is up. cameo by Tobey Maguire. I'll in the process of splicing that movie and putting more clips up. so if you have any requests, let me know. cal i forn ia.

This Town Will Eat You.

-Pretty ridiculous, but I had to post it: powerglove for the wii.
-also managed up to upload some super old tracks that me, mike, big chris, carlos had done back in the day. prob. around 2000 or so, for the most part. 2000-02. sometime in that area. Not that you should want to listen to it's awfulness, but here it is.

The Post BBQ Recap

-Thanks for everyone that showed up and ate food with us. I had a good time, and was glad to see so many familiar faces-some of which I haven't seen in over a year. We had some technical difficulties with our odd grill grid, but I think the food turned out. Sorry, I guess I'm just not "mans" enough for the grill. For anyone else, who couldn't make it or didn't, you missed out.

Shannon-Thanks for helping out on the grill, I suck at grilling.
Bear & Lindsay & Olive-Always good seeing you guys, let me know when your place is all fixed up.
JP & Anne-Thanks for helping out with foods and whatnot.
Big Chris & Tiffany-man, I havent seen you guys in ages. I need to come down to your place sometime. you crack me up chris. I miss the good ole dorm days.
Kelly-I was kind of bummed I missed the Ukraine Girl jam out session. another time...
Matt-Sorry I didn't really hang out with you as much. didn't realize you weren't going to be there very long. come up to the city some other time, and we'll catch up.
Jeremy & Julie-It's been ages seen I've seen you guys too, and glad you came out. Hit me up when you move up to the big city.
Kaleb-It's been too long. some new art is to be done.
Clint-Thanks for coming up. Thanks for Pans and beating me at foosball. I need a rematch.
Mike D & Allen-I never finished the grand tour. my bad. Sorry, didn't really talk with you guys, I was distracted by trying to entertain everyone. but you're more than welcome to stop by if you get bored.

Did I miss someone? I think I did, if I did, I apologize. and for those you didn't come out, Just holler at me, come by sometime. I just work til 6 then sit around all night. Not really much going on these days.

In Critical Review.

-Been thinking about that London logo still. I have a few things to say about it. I still dont like it. The type is just akward, it looks very amateur, like they hired a first year college student. The colors scream 80s cartoon (or Saved by the Bell). And just very disappointed it was done by a professional. I am glad to see the designer/board committee are backing it up. Mike and I discussed it earlier this week and concluded that theres no way they would change it. But I don't think they should. I hate it as much as the next designer, but dont think they should change it.
-I recently read a review over the logo, and agree that it is near impossible to create an impact with your city's olympic logo. but that brings me to the the positives about the logo: They have accomplished something that others have not: creating a memorable mark. Sure-love it, or hate it, but I can almost guarantee you're going to remember it. Do you remember last olympics logo? NO. it was probably some brush stroke person and probably more corporate than it should be. which brings me to another good point: The logo is energetic. For me, that makes total sense, a month of sports, the mark should convey excitement, suspense, joy, and a sense of unity. Although I think the new logo is still lacking, for the most part, the others don't convey this at all.
-I don't like everyone's new redentions of the logo either. On review of the last one Jacob sent me. I like the idea of creating the circle logo, but it doesn't work for this one reason: it takes away from the original olympic ring logo. No one is going to be able to associate that logo with the olympics. The rings have become iconic over the years, and to try to take that apart is just plain dumb. So what should the logo be? I don't know and don't plan on tackling such a task. Logos are difficult, take time. and anything anyone does on their half an hour lunch break is going to suck as well. Someone pay me 800,000 dollars to do it, and I will.

-On the sidenote, Mike and I are having issues with a mildew smell in our house, very tempermental. if anyone has any ideas of how to get rid of or even mask/deodorize the smell, please let me know.
-Today is friday, and I can feel a slow moving day upon me.

Slow Moving Mondays.

-I'm already feeling tired of this week, and it's only an hour into monday. that's not a good sign. Neither is the fact my car won't start. Hopefully that will be resolved later today.
-Preview of Family Guy Star Wars Special. I guess it's not coming out til Sept or something, but looks promising and funny.
-London 2012. "The new 2012 emblem will use the Olympic spirit to inspire everyone and reach out to young people. It is an invitation to take part and be involved." There's already a lot of complaining in the design community about this logo. I definately don't think it inspires and reaches out to young people or even gets me feel like its for the olympics. They're definately trying too hard with this one. It's so forced and akward.
-Oh and speaking of star wars, Mike and I saw this truck on the highway saturday and had a good laugh about it. You can't see it but there is an r2d2 on the truck bed. and the back of it is painted too.
-And for you guys that wonder the difference between a geek and a nerd. this guy explains it pretty well. Mr. Xwing with the truck=nerd. Me and my star wars stuff=geek. Yes. theres a difference."I'll wait in line to see the midnight showing of Harry Potter. That's how I roll."

Friday Friday

and its friday. what a good feeling, despite me waking up late and riding my bike in sprinkling. Feeling a-ok though. So whats new. Mike and I are scheduled to have a bbq next weekend. hopefully it doesn't storm or anything-invite located on flickr. We also have been working on a couple songs, and have a couple, totaling around 10 mins or so. not bad. have some links.
-Star Wars: Rewired.
-Font Clock. Must. Have. Now.
-I have more up my sleeve but not feeling like searching for them. I'm back to work. Come by the house sometime. Play some Marvel vs. Capcom. Oh yeah. Got my hands on Fifa 07. nicely done and I'm going to be hooked the rest of the summer.
