A bit of an akwardly frustrating day today, on so many different levels: mentally, emotionally and physically. and I'm not really sure how to explain it. whatever. I'm in hopes that this week will progressively get better. Onto the healthy size of a blogpost:
-
Five New Yorkers that wear one color every day. I think Shannon could have been on their for his black wardrobe.
-
Rumplo. Nice site for T-shirts.
-
Rembrandt Homer-
Movement Map: Someone tracked their son's, daughter's and cat's movement over an hour. somewhat interesting.
-
World's Best Music Collection up on ebay. Let me just deposit the 3 mil over onto my paypal.
-and more importantly, I learned that Chip Kidd had a new book today,
The Learners, and was released Today. It's the sequel to
The Cheese Monkeys. I was excited, so I went out and bought it (Despite popular rumors, I do read......sometimes):

You can also
view Chip Kidd's promo for the book, on the youtubes: an experiment in form and content. Have to love the wicked witch and eminem one. I never knew that guy was such a character.
Other design notes.
-I recently saw the new EconoLodge logo, kind of a glance while I was in the car and couldn't believe it. Looked it up and sure enough,
EconoLodge revamped their logo. and it is awful. and I think looks more of a toothpaste logo than a lodging.
-I don't really like to indulge myself into politics, but have somewhat kept up with small tidbits from yahoo and NPR. I have noticed
Shepard Fairley's political poster that was posted a while back. and It started to become apparent to me, that if I were to vote purely on aesthetic campaigns, Obama would win. I am by no means, backing Obama or any political party. and sadly don't know where I fit in that whole scheme. But the poster made me realize that a political campaign/poster CAN look good, and I think would greatly benefit candidates if they realized this. But maybe Obama does realize this. As it has also become clear, that
Gotham is his favorite font. Oh, the power of typeface. I love it.
